The French Brandy

Our French brandy, MARQUIS DE VILLARD, has been produced since 1950 following closely the great French traditional methods.

We carefully select the best grape varieties from various French regions which produce a very delicate and high quality spirit after distillation.

Our brandies are produced in Charente, France, were the spirit resulting from the distillation is stored in our cellars, aged in Limousin oak barrels; the essences of this wood enrich the unique flavor and impart its golden color.

In the favorable conditions of our dim cellars, our Cellar Master keeps a close eye on the ageing and prepares the subtle blends.

History

Our cellars were established in 1852 in the South West of France, in a peaceful country crossed by the river Charente; here, the hills are covered with vineyards.

In the center of this region, our family has been managing the House for four generations.

In the year 1905, the owner and Cellar Master of our company married a charming lady named Odette Villard, to whom he dedicated one of his best blends; so was born the now famous Marquis de Villard Brandy.

To a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 6 purple grapes, chopped, 1/8 oz. lemon juice, 1/8 oz simple syrup. Muddle. Fill the shaker with ice, add 1 oz. Marquis de Villard Brandy and shake sharply. Strain into a flute and top with 4 oz. champagne. Garnish with a lemon twist.

In a cocktails shaker filled with ice, add 1 ½ oz. Marquis de Villard Brandy, 3 oz. pineapple juice and ¼ cup frozen (thawed) strawberries. Shake until frothy and strain into a tall glass with ice. Garnish with a strawberry.

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1 oz. Marquis de Villard Brandy, 1 oz. Amarula and 1 oz. chilled coffee or espresso. Shake sharply and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice. Top with whipped cream.

In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, 1½ oz. Marquis de Villard Brandy, 1oz. lime juice, 1 oz. simple syrup and 5 raspberries. Shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a raspberry skewer.

To a highball glass, add 1 stalk of mint, ½ oz. lemon juice, ½ oz. Lime juice, 1 oz. Simple syrup. Muddle. Fill the glass with ice and 1½ oz. Marquis de Villard Brandy and stir to mix. Top with ginger ale and garnish with a mirt sprig.
